Aiza Seguerra and wife Liza Diño visited Thursday the Manobo evacuees at the UCCP Haran sanctuary Davao City. She met the Manobo students and leaders from Talaingod, Kapalong and White Culaman, Kitaotao.
Seguerra is active in the Stop Killing Lumads and Save Our Schools campaign, as she has visited the Manobo evacuees from Alcadev school in Surigao del Sur.
The singer-actor lamented how government is treating the lumads. “So many injustices going on. The government is supposedly protecting the people not killing the people,” she said.
Lumad leader Jong Monsod from Pasaka Lumad Confederation of Southern Mindanao is grateful for Seguerra and Diño’s support. “Their visit gives us Lumads the courage to defend our land that is in danger by mining and logging plantations by foreign capitalists.”
Bukidnon Lumad chieftain Bai Bibiyaon Bigkay hopes the two personalities would help spread the support to the real issues of the Lumads.
