Presidential candidate Rody Duterte and his vice presidential running mate Alan Peter Cayetano will visit General Santos City today for two engagements, including the long-awaited concert of musicians and artists supporting the duo.
Duterte is expected to speak before members of the Jaycees earlier in the afternoon and later join the concert with Cayetano.
The concert, MAD for Change, is a project of musicians and artists who are pushing the candidacy of Duterte and Cayetano.
The performers include the Saturday Night Boyz, the group which popularised the song “Takbo” dedicated to Duterte at the time when he was reluctant to run for the Presidency.
The song was largely credited in changing the mind of Duterte and deciding to run for the country’s highest post.
Manila and Davao City based musicians and bands will perform tonight.
The General Santos City concert is the third engagement of the MAD for Change group.
The first concert was staged in Taguig and a small concert was held in Kidapawan City last December.
