A man throws a bottle that contains homemade explosives inside main international airport in China’s commercial hub of Shanghai, injuring a total of four people, including Filipino, before the suspect attempted to kill himself.

The unidentified suspect removed the bottles with explosive materials in it from his backpack before throwing it near the airports check-in counter in Terminal 2, government authorities said in statement.

The suspect then took the knife and then slashed at his neck, authorities said, adding that the man is in critical condition now in the hospital.

The motive of the suspect was not disclosed. There have been similar cases in China disgruntled individuals setting explosions or even starting fires in revenge for the perceived wrongs.

A total of four passengers were injured in the said incident, official news agency said that they included man from Philippines, as well as 67 year old man and 64 year old woman both Chinese. The fourth victim’s nationality was still unclear.
